Start with the exposure check

It is the one part of this site that looks like it might want your data, so it deserves the first answer. The check never asks for an email address or a password. You tick risk factors, the score is calculated in your browser, and nothing is transmitted, logged or saved. Close the tab and it is gone.

No accounts, no forms, no personal data

Everywhere else on breachmonitor, the same holds: there is no registration, no contact form, no newsletter and no comment thread. We do not receive, store or process personal data about visitors, and we have nothing to hand to anyone else.

Cookieless analytics

We count page views with privacy-friendly analytics that work without cookies and without a persistent identifier. The figures are aggregate — which guides get read — and cannot be traced back to a person or followed across other sites.

Our citations link out to Have I Been Pwned, IBM’s breach-cost reporting and the GDPR text on EUR-Lex, and the site links to OffSeq. Those are ordinary outbound links; each destination runs under its own privacy policy, not ours.
